Pinkerton Foundation

The Pinkerton Foundation awarded Tomorrow’s Leaders NYC funding to expand to the Bronx. Historically the Bronx has had the most over-age students in New York City. Over 3,000, almost twice as many as the next highest borough Brooklyn. That means that each year there will be at least 3,000 middle school students in the Bronx that have been held back in school two or more times before they get to high school. While this grant will only cover about 5% of the population the hopes the services and model can continue to be effective enough so that more schools and students can benefit in the near future.
