Meet the Founder Oluwatoyin Ayanfodun

The story of our Founder and Executive Director Oluwatoyin (Toyin) Ayanfodun grew up in Brooklyn, NY and spent several years working with inner-city youth in non-profit and educational settings. Based on his experiences, Toyin realized there were few services for over-age students and so in 2011, he founded Tomorrow's Leaders NYC to provide support to over-aged students to graduate high school and become career ready. Since its inception, TLNYC has created a support model for over-aged students with demonstrated results, fundraised over $7 million and supported over 4,000 students to become productive members of their community.

Toyin earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Temple University in 2008 with a minor in Entrepreneurship. He also holds a certification in Non-Profit Management from Medgar Evers College School of Continuing Education. In 2015, Toyin was named as an Echoing Green Fellow. This prestigious award provided funding to TLNYC in its early stage and globally recognized Toyin as an impactful social entrepreneur. Toyin and TLNYC have been featured in a number of media platforms and publications including ABC 7 New York, Way Up with Angela Yee, NBC, Huffington Post and Forbes. He has previously spoken on panels at Stanford University, Harvard Business School and Columbia Business School. Seminar topics include, but are not limited to, Mastering Social-emotional Learning, Effective Parent Engagement Techniques, Working with At-risk Youth, Improving Student-Teacher Relations, and Creating Successful Grade-Transition Programs.
Coaching for Early Stage Administrators and Teachers 
Consulting and coaching services that help Staff and Administrators better engage students through culturally relevant lesson planning that helps create strong school cultures that positively engage disengaged students. Positive School Culture Improvement Module 
Coaching topics include, but are not limited to, Best Practices to Reduce Suspensions, Creating Safe Learning Environments, Improving Overall School Attendance, and Increasing Student Out-of-School Engagement. Workforce Development Curriculum
